ARTIST STATEMENT (2008)

"I am obsessed with the geometry of meaning and its emergence. Multi-dimensional. Layered. Non-linear. Dot-to-dots and constellations. As a result, the works I make are rich with open metaphor and aesthetic information. While in the presence of the work, I want my viewers to live in the moment with each piece. Afterwards, I want them to be haunted by the work; to find the metaphors and dynamics I lay out ready touchstones and frameworks for their daily experiences. After this, what else is there?" - JL
