Dam, Stuhltrager Exhibitions: ALL MESSED UP WITH NOWHERE TO GO , My Objects

There is a certain safety in words…the sparse use of image and text to create a poetry of meaning. Allowing the viewer to fill the interstices with a story creates a melancholy, an inability (or rather unwillingness) to share too specifically. In equal parts wishing to be an isolated, yet so strongly desirous of any communication with someone who will listen, my current artwork seeks to maintain a fine balance between these conflicting ideas. By creating work which allows a certain mental space, this personal need for protection and communication is satisfied. – K. JENSEN
