“Art’s Town”(oil on linen, 68” x 58”, 2000-2005)

As an artist who has worked in and derived my inspiration from Brooklyn for over twenty years, I believe that it now presents itself, like Montmartre of 100 years ago, as a unique location for the developments that may represent the next rung on the ever acceding ladder of art history. Being a painter with several international exhibitions as well as a writer, I realized the fascinating nature that Brooklyn offers. Because I choose to focus on this borough for my writing, it appeared naturally that I should combine this rich subject matter with my research in painting and photography as well. - L. MUNK
