Bio/Exhibition History
Ruth Marshall was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. After receiving her BA from Phillip Institute, she was awarded the Anne & Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarship to study abroad at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn.
Upon graduating Pratt, Ruth Marshall joined the team at the Wildlife Conservation Society, more commonly known as the Bronx Zoo. This experience provided opportunity to study first hand a world renown animal collection and conservation strategies. Animal conservation is at the very heart of Ruth Marshall's artwork.
Marshall was the very first artist to formally be asked to Dam, Stuhltrager Gallery, back in the early days of 2002.
